CSA support to Ms Rachana Mudraboyina, a Transgender Activist from Hyderabad, for the month of February saw various key activities that took place in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, for the promotion of LGBTIQ rights, particularly the transgender communities in the two states. In particular was the State level Consultation of Hijra Leaders from Andhra Pradesh on February 28, 2026 at Guntur, with the support of JMJ Social Service Society. The meeting had the participation of transgender leaders from various districts of Andhra, various government officials such as the officials from the District Legal Services Authority, Mission for Elimination of Poverty from Municipal Areas and officials from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development and also from the Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society. The meeting discussed pressing issues affecting the transgender communities in the State, strengthening coordination between community leaders and government agencies, identify policy gaps and opportunities for collaboration.
